SPECIAL PROGRAMMING

MURRAY SAUL

Fridays 5:00 pm

Our close friend Murray Saul was one of the few with advance knowledge of oWOWnow.com’s debut. At the time Murray told us what he would like us to do on oWOW. We promised Murray his request would be fulfilled when oWOW launched. Regrettably, Murray did not live to see and hear the debut of oWOW. What was promised to Murray happens every Friday at 5 PM when oWOW presents a vintage Get Down to kick off the weekend along with the Holy Trinity of the Weekend: the original version (with strings and back up singers) of “Born To Run,” the rare version that WMMS originally played before the “Get Downs,” along with “Friday On My Mind” by Earthquake and “Cleveland Rocks” by Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson.  The pre- Get Down “Rock & Roll Calisthenics” begin at 4:45 PM with the Sugarbabes’ “Livin’ for the Weekend,” The J. Geils Band’s “No Anchovies, Please” and the Led Zeppelin-James Brown mash-up, “Whole Lotta Sex Machine.”

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE

Fridays Nights

8 pm - 12 am

Hosted by Lisa Dillon, Friday Night Live is four hours of continuous live concert music, including many rare, out of print, imported and unreleased material cultivated from oWOW’s vast, ever expanding live archives.

BLUESTIME

Saturdays

9 pm - 12 am

BluesTime, hosted by Alan Greene, is a weekly three-hour blues music program featuring the many shades of blues music from the folk-blues of Robert Johnson to blues legends like B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters, and today’s blues masters including Joe Bonamassa, Dana Fuchs, Gary Clark, Jr. and more!

NAKED BRUNCH

Sundays

10 am - 12 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm

Naked Brunch, hosted by Monica Robins, is an acoustic-based, low tech show with often rare or unreleased versions of songs you know from oWOW’s vast archives.  The music on Naked Brunch features a cool, laid back vibe for Sunday mornings and evenings.  Naked Brunch is heard every Sunday from 10 am to noon with a repeat broadcast Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 pm.
